It is well known that the Certificate of Employers Liability Insurance must be displayed where all employees can see it. Are you aware that this can now be displayed in an electronic format providing it remains readily accessible to all employees?Although it is no longer a legal requirement to keep your Certificate of Employers Liability Insurance for 40 years insurance companies are still recommending that employers do still retain them for 40 years just in case you receive a claim from a past employee.

So you’re getting bit tired of the day to day hastle of your business and you think its time to get somebody in to take the day to day grind off you.
Unfortunately there is no suitable candidate internally so you are considering recruiting from outside. Now whilst there are plenty of people to help with recruitment, including ourselves, and some good candidates out there you should think carefully before making what will be a significant investment and be a risk.
On the plus side you may be lucky and get someone who adds value to you’re business. Alternatively are you really prepared to hand over the reins? The fact that there isn’t an internal candidate suggests you’re not. Perhaps better to identify internal potential, try to develop it and practice taking a back seat over the coming months.

HMRC are of the opinion that there are a number of businesses that should be registered for VAT, and so far, they have not registered. They are in the process of sending out 40,000 letters to traders who they believe may be in this category.
HMRC are offering businesses that “come clean” and notify HMRC of an intention to register before the end of September 2011, reduced or nil penalties. Subsequently formal applications have to be submitted on VAT form 1 before 31 December 2011.
The current VAT registration threshold is £73,000. If you have already passed this annual limit in the last twelve months, are about to, or expect to in the next 30 days, you might like to respond to this offer.
Penalties for late registration can be up to 100% of additional VAT due.
